Cyberpunk 2077 News – FREE Next Gen Upgrade, Lizzy Wizzy’s Grim Backstory & Character Builder Soon?!

What is going on Neon Nation welcome back
to The Neon Arcade for some more Cyberpunk 2077 News! We have yet another jam-packed episode today
including some details about next generation and how CDPR will be helping the consumer bridge
the gap between current and next gen consoles, Grimes revealing a little bit too much about
her Character Lizzy Wizzy in a Live Stream, CD PROJEKT RED setting a new substantial record
in Europe, a new Cyberpunk Red image, Tons of new statues and figurines for Cyberpunk
coming out of the new york toy fair some of which give some interesting story hints and more. First up we have a tweet sent out by CD PROJEKT
RED yesterday morning which says “Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game
twice or pay for upgrades. Owners of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One will
receive the Xbox Series X Upgrade for free when available.” This all but confirms a next generation version
for the Xbox Series X. At the same time this is incredible news for
those who already pre-ordered or who will still buy an Xbox One version of the game,
as if they ever decide to upgrade to the Xbox Series X there will be a shiny clean updated
next gen version waiting for them to download. It’s not necessarily clear at this time
if the upgraded version will offer more features or functionality in the game, but with RTX
being a focal point of the next gen consoles, and with graphical fidelity and frame
rates getting a significant boost it’s going to make the game even more replay able through
the fluidity of cross gen. Also who can really argue with a free upgrade. Looking into Xbox’s website to understand
their game compatibility a little bit better they mention that Smart Delivery empowers
you to buy a game once and know that – whether you are playing it on Xbox One or Xbox Series
S – you are getting the right version of that game on whatever Xbox you’re playing
on. Microsoft is making the commitment to use
Smart Delivery on all their exclusive Xbox Game Studios titles including Halo Infinite,
ensuring you only have to purchase a title once in order to play the best available version
for whichever Xbox console you choose to play on. This technology is available for all developers
and publishers, and you can choose to use it for titles that will be released on Xbox
One first and come to the Xbox Series X later. I know a lot of you guys were iffy about current
gen in combination with the delay for Cyberpunk 2077 and I had a ton of comments mentioning
that they should just push the release to these next generation consoles instead. Whilst this wouldn’t make sense in any capacity,
a free upgrade is the perfect solution for everyone and yet another testament to how consumer
friendly CDPR is becoming in conjunction with Microsoft. We did speculate the potential for CDPR to
double dip with both generation releases to make more money, similarly to how Rockstar
has done in the past, but CDPR pulls through and proves that they can take their meaningful
policies one step further. No word if Sony will follow suit and prepare
something similar for the PS5, but it really does sweeten the deal for Xbox users. Moving on we have some information via Grimes
the Canadian Singer who will be playing famous Night City pop-star Lizzy Wizzy in the game. This part does possibly contain spoilers and
although we do think this is purely related to the backstory and not anything that we
will see in-game, this is not a guarantee. If you want to skip this part, I will link
a time stamp on screen. Anyways getting back to it, Grimes had a livestream
a couple of days ago to talk about the release of her new album Miss Anthropocene. At around 20 minutes into the livestream a
question was asked about Cyberpunk 2077 and her character to which she responds with that
she has done the voice acting for Lizzy Wizz and that the game is looking really good. Grimes has seen around an hour of gameplay
which is likely the Pacifica demo. She also sneaks in huge detail about her character
saying that Lizzy Wizzy committed suicide on stage, and trauma team had to quickly come and perform emergency surgery to replace her whole body
with cybernetics. She was dead for an hour, but she ends up
finishomg the show as a cyborg. This is one of the greatest pieces of performance
art ever made in Night City. After Grimes was confirmed to play Lizzy Wizzy
and these two images were also confirmed to be Lizzy Wizzy there was some speculation
about how she turns from one form to another, and here we have our answer. Now in the game, we do see Lizzy Wizzy posters
where she is all chrome, and her making an entrance here so my assumption is that this
is part of her backstory and not something we will see in game. We also see newspapers that mention a death
at a Lizzy Wizzy concert, which could refer to her own death. This appears pretty early on in the 48-minute
Watson demo, which is early in the story altogether, so its likely this is purely part of her backstory. In any case CDPR is not holding back on the
brutality and over the top imagery in the game, so for those of you who are worried
about them watering down the narrative and dark tones of Cyberpunk, rest assured they
are aiming not to. Now it seems like CDPR did not want this to
necessarily be out there as the Livestream was subsequently edited by Grimes to remove
this tidbit and is currently as far as I know now private. I think she probably did say a little bit
too much knowing how tight-fisted CDPR is being about the story currently, which is
the reason its been taken down. Just as a little aside there is a pretty neat
Easter egg in her latest music video, which features an homage to Cyberpunk masterpiece
Akira. Next we have a Facebook message sent to me
by a viewer featuring a question he asked to the official Cyberpunk 2077 Facebook page,
who has in the past answered fan questions. Thanks to Joao Paulo for sending this one
in. He asks “Regarding Cyberpunk do you guys
intend to present more details abut the character creation as far as attributes and perks? I wish I could plan my build before launch,
a list of perks and how point distribution works would help. CDPR responds with “to some extent, maybe”
Now this is a reference to the 3 layered skill tree where Attributes run into skills and
perks. We’ve heard of perks like Athletics where
you can run with bodies faster as well as Cold-blooded which amps up your own damage
when you are low on health. If we did get to see some more of the perks
before launch we would be able to plan out or builds like Joao mentioned, similarly to
how you could spec out builds in Borderlands 3 before release. In the past I’ve mentioned a character creator
app, which would invariably detract time from the games actual development, but I think
this could be a nice happy in between, and CDPR seem to not rule this one out. They usually have no issues saying “We have
no plans for this” to questions on their social media channels, so there is a good
chance we will be able to see something at least remotely similar. Let me know if you guys would like to plan
your builds a little bit more pre-launch. Next up we have a ton of new Cyberpunk 2077
gear coming out of the New York toy fair, which are not only showpieces but also give
some major Cyberpunk lore hints. Starting off we have some new figures coming
in from Dark Horse Comics in a Johnny Silverhand and V statue. While only the Male V statue with the mantis
arm was shown, Rafal Jaki the Biz director at CDPR confirmed that a female piece will
be coming. We also have Johnny Silverhand, with one of
his iconic weapons. This is the Malorian Arms 3516. Malorian firearms, Incorporated is a bespoke
weapons designer and manufacturer based out of Night City, with their motto being distinctive
firearms for distinctive people. The firm was founded by Eran Malour who has
designed weapons for the best and brightest including Solo Morgan Blackhand. The most famous weapon designed by him however
is the Malorian Arms 3516, which was custom made for famous rockerboy Johnny Silverhand. This one of a kind 14 mm heavy pistols titanium
frame was manufactured in space, allowing for an almost zero chance of imperfection
in the casting. An integral cyberlink means only someone with
a cyberarm and smart gun link can take full advantage of the pistol’s features. In a quote from Cyberpunk 2020 Silverhand
mentions “I wanted something that would drop a cyberpsychoe’d fan at 100 paces,
no matter how metalled up he was.” “Price was no object.” We also have a better look at the duffel bag
Silverhand is carrying in the McFarlane series figure, which again seems to hold a nuke or
explosive of some sort. As you know a mini nuke has been floating
around since Cyberpunk Red in the lore, and it goes hand in hand with Johnny wanting to
burn the city down. We will have to wait and see what this actually
is. I also wanted to take a closer look at this
Female V prototype from PureArts, as she seems to have had a brief hair color change. If you’ve noticed, Male V seems to have
two distinct types at the moment, the deep dive one which is prominent on most figurines
as well as the 2019 CGI Trailer one which is featured on the cover, so it’s nice to
see Female V with subtle changes as well. There were a ton of other figures, plushies,
merch from Cyberpunk 2077 revealed at the toy fair, so I’ll put those on screen if
you are so interested in getting a closer look. Next we have CD Projekt Red shattering some
records in Europe, by becoming the second biggest video game company, valued at 8 Billion
USD, only second to Ubisoft whose valuation goes as high as 9.6 billion USD. Considering that Ubisoft has multiple releases
in a year versus CDPR who releases triple A games only when they are ready, this really
shows how different approaches to the market yield similar results, at least in the quality
versus quantity argument. Thanks to the popular Netflix series, which
catalyzed sales of the Witcher games by as much as 554%, the anticipation of Cyberpunk
2077, as well as the Witcher 3 Nintendo port, CDPR has gone from a market value of 6.8 billion
to 8 billion in a couple months. Not only did the bump in sales of the Witcher
Games help reach this value, but the sales of The Witcher 3 on Steam recent crossed 50
million USD bumping it up to a new Steam share tier which will allow CDPR to collect 80%
of sales they make on TW3 on Steam in the future. When it comes to the custom RTX 2080Ti we
mentioned from the last episode, Nvidia released an unboxing video showcasing the collector’s
box and the card itself. It is really awesome looking and features
the same cuts in the backplate as what V has in his arms, a really unique stylistic design. For the rules on how to win this card, I’ll
link a news video in the description featuring how you can get one of these only 200 in the
world cards. You won’t be able to buy this so the only
way to get your hands on this is through NVidias contest. Moving on We have yet another new Cyberpunk
Red image, and a dev update from RTalsorian about the lethality game mechanics in the
TTRPG Cyberpunk Red. The new image was created by Neil Branquinho
and is called Sapphire Town and yes it will be in the full version of Cyberpunk Red along
with the images we showcased last episode. Now in the full Dev blog RTalsorian shares
some information on the combat system and reworks they’ve been making, but I’m not
going to act like an expert on TTRPGs, so I’ll link this in the description for you
guys to check out. There are 3 critical injuries highlighted
however including Lost Eyes, collapsed lungs and broken jaws. Moving on we have the full release of the
Tyger Claws poster, which we first saw a snippet of a while ago in Michal Dzekians Instagram,
who is the artist behind all the gang posters so far. Obviously we speculated the Tokyo Nomads and
the Tyger Claws were clashing when we saw a snippet of it, but now we see it in its
full glory. Still no confirmation if this is the case,
but the characters featured look quite cool and there are different colored Katanas shown
off here. Finally we have PAX East around the corner
on February 27th. Although CDPR is not attending, it might be
a good time to drop something new. Keep your eyes out this weekend just incase. Thanks for watching guys and for more Cyberpunk

  2. If it's not the same for PS5 I will just wait 1-2 months for PS5 to come out. And hopefully they have fixed most major bugs by then

  3. do u think CPR will release some gaming video in the wait of 9/17
cuz I'm still itching inside I just love me a good cyberpunk game

  4. As a Playstation gamer really hoping we can get the upgrade too, still, we don't really have any PS5 details yet, so just gotta wait until the announcement I suppose.

  5. Saints Row back in the day dropped a character creation demo before the game watched so you can create your character cuz there's so many different options CD projekt Red should definitely do that for cyberpunk that would be awesome wouldn't take away from the game story and that kind of stuff is just let you mess around with the character creation create your character as a demo before the game comes out

  6. This is great news for gamers, CDPR and Microsoft. Win-win. This should be standard across ALL gaming companies/publishers.
The new Xbox Series X will be really powerful, now they just need some system seller exclusives like Sony.
Thans for the news (and the spoiler for Lizzy's story for those who care about spoilers), and the figures are really cool! 🙂

  7. I was going to wait and just get it next gen. Now I'm going to get it day1 for my Xb1X. Then day 1 of the series X I'll start a second character. I love it!

  8. God I hate waiting for this game because it just keeps getting better, oh well at least altered carbon season 2 will wet my appetite till then haha

  9. Wow, I don't know what's worse. The act of committing suicide, or having something else bring that person back. It's a serious topic, don't get me wrong, but wow.

  10. I'd love to have a custom character app. Not the case with Cyberpunk but if NFS heat didn't have the studio app I may have passed on the game.

  11. This should alleviate worries about another delay, at least one caused by next gen.

Also, I'm laughing at the petty insults from some PS fans on Twitter even though they'll probably also get free upgrades if Sony doesn't get in the way.

  12. NFS Heat made a really good app where you could costumize your cars pre game-launch. I hope they make a app similar to NFS Heat Studio.

  13. More proof that, as a game developer, CDPR deserve to be idolised! Nice one 👍… Remember the initiation station that was released before Saints Row a few years back? Imagine something like that a little closer to the release date than we are now.

  14. A lot of sword references coming up lately. 8:38 Male V is holding a "Ninjato" in the poster, it's not exactly a katana per say so much as a "tool sword". Still it is something. Plus everything in the Tiger Claw poster, I'm wondering if this means the customization will extend to our weapons as well?

  15. More figurines, nice, Fem V w/ Yaiba Kusanagi alongside Silverhand for sure, i´ll try to get it lol when becomes available, CDPR really deserves all things good :D, Lizzy will be a sick carachter we may have a mission/sidequest with her like Priscilla in TW3, a CC and some perk/ skills video may be coming soon (hopefully), the gangs artwork are insane, you aced Neon.

  16. I wonder if a game/company can keep game info off the internet. All strategy guides, cheats, spoilers. Take games back to the time when you had you figure it out yourself.

Would you have to be paid off? Threatened with legal action? or just asked by the company to not reveal stuff? (lets assume you are the only one who would)

  17. They chose to give give a free upgrade when the option became available, leaving millions of dollars on the table.

Suck on that everyone that says CDPR doesn't care about the community

  18. Thanks or all the info man. Love your channel. 😊😊

I'm upgrading my graphics card for Cyberpunk 2077. What do you recommend?

  19. So if I buy cyberpunk 2077 for the regular Xbox one and get a series x later, I can just pop the disc in and automatically updates the game's visuals to the series x?

  20. looks interesting, 2020, the rpg, had limb destruction rules, but they were basically x damage is enough to just shred a limb, and head shots were just double damage, so a more detailed, and possibly in some ways forgiving but at the same time punishing damage and wounds system could be good. the jump start already has some nice quality of life changes to humanity cost for corrective cyberware or various sorts for things like lost limbs.

  21. And you know I wanna plan my build and my lore before launch. Ima be on the creation screen for 3 hours if not lol. But I'm also ok with that !!!!

  22. Love the Chill vibe you bring to your videos, Neon – which is a mix between the background music and your "midnight jazz" voice. Really gato, choomba!

More skill/perk tree reveal would be nice as I would like to plan my character a bit more, but not necessary.

  23. I'm super hyped for this still. It's coming out on my birthday! I definitely would love to see the character builder come out early so we can prepare ahead of time.

  24. I would love to mess with the character creation settings and look at the skill tree. I am excited to get my hands on this game

  25. The more i hear about the series x, the less i consider it 'new gen'. Next gen, well, yeah okay, but it feels more like a half step looking at the way game versions can be used on different consoles for the price of one. Of course this saves money tho.

  26. Idk man but if cyberpunk will be just a bit like a metro game, in terms of balance between shooting and storytelling with exploring and maybe some puzzles thrown in there, i'll fucking love it.

  27. So… I know Xbox users will get afree upgrade from XBOX One to Series X, but what about the porr unfortunate souls who preordered the game for PS4? Microsoft people get most of the good stuff, and PC users get all of it. Can't there be a happy medium?

  28. I kept telling people It’s because of the next gen…..But I kept getting called Stupid for it.. Lol who’s stupid now hahahahah!

  29. Glad to hear that the lore of this game and universe is so huge and vast, also really glad to hear that CDPR is not only NOT watering down the intensity of the game but that they’re also including the upgrade for next gen consoles for Xbox players for free cuz I’m an Xbox player 🤘🏼🔥

  30. 6:36 It would be so exciting to start planning my character(s) in advance, but more-so their appearance and not just their skills. Either would be fun though. Hopefully we get some more details soon! 6:50 That figurine of V looks great, really liking the detail in his hair and clothes. 9:08 Quality > Quantity! 9:37 Interesting that this is the case. It seems kinda backwards that Steam would collect a larger cut from a game that made less, but I suppose $50M is a lot, so taking a smaller cut from that is courteous of Steam. 10:10 Loving all the artwork coming for Red. 10:46 This is my new favourite poster from Michael. Absolutely fantastic 😀

  31. Can't wait to play this , currently waiting for the new Nvidia GPUs for an upgrade, wanna play this maxed at 1440p with Ray tracing.

  32. Im pretty much buying anything cd project red releases for the rest of my life. Im an official fanboy from here on out.

  33. holy shit Grimes!!! CPDR isn't playing around with staying in the aesthetic, such a good pick I bet she'll be a great character

  34. no one gives a crap apart from ps4 owners, and we're the only ones who count and matter, just tell us when the god damn game is coming out for ps4 . by the way ''Rule Britannia'', get used to it.
''Hammer Hammer Hammer Hammer!!…., Oy! where's the fuckin bar John? rule Britannia Britannia rules the waves, go on Maggie!!'' sorry bit drunk.

  35. As far a s I know the PS5 Will play PS4 Discs. So there wouldn't be a PS5 version of Cyberpunk, but the PS5 will play it better blah blah blah.

  36. I just do not understand why they are not doing a 3rd person mode. I mean look, I get it, it’s a role playing game – so you are playing as the character, your supposed to be in that characters eyes. But with so much emphasis on character design, and look, and outfits, etc…. why not have a 3rd person mode.

  37. Absolutely can not wait for this game I know that hype levels are reaching an all time high but CDPR doesn't disappoint since they know to take their time and only release when it's 100% ready. Love the videos man thanks for keeping me updated on my favorite game of 2020 (and probably forever, even though it hasn't been released yet lol)

  38. the game getting so much hype, hope it doesn't fuck up somehow. smart move guaranteeing player base for both cdpr and xbox s and a shit load of free publicity.

  39. So does that mean if I pre order cyberpunk on xbox one s i get the xbox series x for free and if so how do you get it shipped to you

  40. great video!

i think them showing any image of v (in/as merch) is dumb, as char is completely customizable. generic white dude is boring af. don't know why they didn't put johnny on the cover, lol.

  41. Something like a character creator video would help pad the time ….. yes I would like to plan my build before launch..

  42. BUT,.. we all know that when a feature is Optimized for Nvidia, it is Nvidia only,.. so the real question is: Will Cyberpunk 2077 support DirectX Ray Tracing (Xbox Series X, AMD GPU) or will it be Nvidia RTX only?

  43. You know, I want the game maybe the art book. But figurines, that is for the guys of big bang theory, oops that series has ended. The game is pushed back till September. So I have content teasers, like going to the strip club look but don't touch.

  44. I still don't understand why we will have an extensive character creation process but first person view only. I understand they want immersion but why go through so much programming to make extesive creation for a person we won't see except in cut scenes?

  45. I was about to ask why she looks different but seems like you already covered that.

PS:I'm not new, I just changed my name to better fit my content which was and isn't only about art.
