FIRE OFFICIALS SAY IT WAS CAUSED BY A GENERATOR ONLY A FEW INCHES AWAY FROM THE GARAGE DOOR. THEY LIVE ON WEST STREET IN METHUEN WHERE 1600 CUSTOMERS ARE WITHOUT POWER AFTER THE STORM. THEY WERE SUFFERING FROM HEADACHES, NAUSEA, AND VOMITING AND ARE EXPECTED TO BE OKAY. A NEW INVESTIGATION HAS EXPANDED THE SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS AT A NEW HAMPSHIRE PREP SCHOOL. FIVE STAFFERS WERE ADDED TO A REPORT. THEY WORKED AT THE SCHOOL BETWEEN 1997 AND 1999. A COMMISSION IS RECOMMENDING MASSACHUSETTS CHANGE TIME ZONES BUT ONLY IF OTHER NORTHEAST STATES AGREE TO DO IT TOO. IN A FINAL REPORT RELEASED YESTERDAY. THE 11 MEMBER PANEL SAID LONGER DAYLIGHT HOURS WOULD BENEFIT RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS. BEHIND IT, THE WIND SHIFTS AROUND AND COOLER AIR COMES BACK FOR THE UPCOMING WEEKEND WITH HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING IN ON SATURDAY. HIGHS TODAY, UPPER 60s AND LOW 70s. ABOUT 10 TO 15 DEGREES ABOVE WHERE WE SHOULD BE. AND A MILD OVERNIGHT PERIOD WITH LOW CLOUDS AND PATCHY FOG DEVELOPING. 58 FOR AN OVERNIGHT LOW. AND 70 TO 74 FOR HIGHS TOMORROW. AND 60s ON THE CAPE.
